THE WESTIN GRANDE SUKHUMVIT IN BANGKOK

It may be one of the nicest hotels I hve visited recently. The Westin Grande had a very cosy room, nice bed, (maybe too many layers of sheets, but something needs to be subject of complaint...) very well furnised bathroom (loved the shower), nice choice of food for breakfast (lovely banana cake) ... What else can one ask for? And I was in a standard room. I can't imagine what an Executive Deluxe room could offer the guest. The decor was actually quite modern and made you feel at home.

Staff? Well, if you know Thai people, you will know that they are wellknown for their kindness and willing to help all the time.

Negative things? Well, from the street, you needed to get a lift to the 7th floor to get to the Hall and then, another lift to get to rooms. Also, Internet connection was not free... You would expect that for that amount of money, it could be inclusive.

THE LEGEND CHIANG RAI RESORT

Thai people tend to show their good manners and are always polite to you. When it comes to a nice hotel with nice staff, then, it is a plus. The Legend Chiang Rai Resort is situated somewhere in Chiang Rai, by the Mae Kok river.

The place is peaceful. Several Villas scattered in the grounds give you the privacy you need, yet, you are part of a group of houses. The Villas are beautifully decorated in a stylish rural decor. Beds have nets hanging for the nights, to avoid mosquitoes to bite you during the night...

The bathrooms have a Jacuzzi to enjoy your relaxed time. Depending on the room, you may have a terrace overlooking the river. Nearby, you have a swimming pool where you can just refresh yourself. If you feel like doing some exercise, then, you have a gym and spa too. You should not forget the Thai Massage.

Food is served in an open restaurant by the river. Breakfast and dinners tend to be buffet style, where you will find a lot of Asian food, so... be prepared. It is all excellently presented and tastes good.

The City is only a few minutes away by car. There is a minibus shuttle service (you need to pay for it) but on the way back, you should try a tuc-tuc. Not expensive. In the city, don't miss the night market. Worth a visit.

We also had booked a trip up river (3 hours) in a long tail boat, which was impressive. The Hotel has its own jetty from where you can board the boat.
